Breitling Watches

Leon Breitling started his company in Switzerland in 1884 when he made his first chronographs. Breitling (pronounced brEYE-tling) watches are often associated with aviation and their certified chronometers have forms and functions suitable for use by pilots. Breitling watches typically have a large face so they can be read easily and so they can display a lot of information on the dial and various models include functions such as date, split-second timers, moon phase and flyback functions.

Breitling's most well known model was introduced in 1952 - the Breitling Navitimer which featured a circular slide rule on the bezel. The Navitimer is still part of the Breitling range of watches and is joined by other famous models such as the Breitling Emergency which contains a radio transmitter that broadcasts a distress signal for use by civil pilots in emergency situations. The Breitling Chronomat and the Breitling Super Avenger are also highly sought after models. Breitling sponsored Team Bentley during their 2001-2003 Le Mans 24 Hour motor racing campaign and to commemorate its sponsorship, it produced the limited edition Breitling Bentley 24 Le Mans model. There are many other interesting models in the Windrider, Professional and Aeromarine ranges.
