Cartier Watches

Maison Cartier was established in 1847 in Paris, France by Louis-Francois Cartier after an apprenticeship with master watchmaker Adolphe Picard. In 1874, his son Alfred Cartier joined the company but it was his three sons, Louis, Pierre and Jacques, who were responsible for the world famous brand that is Cartier watches. The Cartier brand (pronounced Car-TEA-AY) is now part of the Richemont group of luxury watch brands.

The most recognised model of all Cartier luxury watches is the Tank Francaise first produced in 1917. It was designed by Louis Cartier who took his inspiration from British army tanks - which can be seen in the style of the bracelet that is integrated into the case of the watch. Other well known watches are the Pasha de Cartier which has a protective grid over its face, the versatile Roadster watch with magnified date display and the Santos 100 with its solid and oversized proportions.
